Factions:

Pirates: There are no freer individuals than those that take to the seas in the name of piracy. Since the public execution of Gol D. Roger, there has been an explosion in the number of lawless ruffians that sail under a pirate's flag. They're as numerous as they are varied; where one pirate crew could have a reputation of being heartless and cruel, another crew may prove to be opposite and gentler than one may at first expect. Some take to the seas with One Piece as their goal, others simply want to feel the wind in their hair and the pull of adventure.

Marines: The polar opposite of a pirate, yet not as different as they first seem to those they hunt. Marines are tasked with hunting down pirates and law breakers and bringing them to justice, be it through massive fleets of warships or small detachments. They're the World Government's military sea-force and can be found to have a presence in most cities or towns throughout the four seas. Though less common in the Grand Line, they're a force to be reckoned with. They follow 'Absolute Justice', meaning they punish pirates for their crimes in ways fitting to their ship/squad superior.

Bounty Hunters: Men and women that have taken it upon themselves to make a living through the hunting of pirates and criminals for the bounty placed upon their heads. They have a shaky relationship with Marines, who tolerate the existence of Bounty Hunters simply because they make the Marine's lives easier. Bounty Hunters can be as lawless, ruthless, and free as any pirate, yet as strict and meticulous as any Marine, making them they middle-ground between the two.

Races:

Human: Humans gain no special bonuses towards combat and are the most numerous out of all the races.

Fishman: Fishmen gain a +20% bonus towards both their Hand to Hand and Swordsmanship statistics. They gain a +10% bonus to their Raw Speed statistic, but only under water. To balance this out, Fishman characters are unlikely to ever consume a Devil Fruit.

Giants: Giants gain a +30% bonus towards both their Hand to Hand and Swordsmanship statistics. They suffer a permanent -20% detriment to their Raw Speed statistic.

Combat:

Hand to Hand: Each unarmed strike a person performs, be it with any part of their body, does a total of 5% of their Hand to Hand skill. Any unarmed technique they perform, be it with any part of their body, does a total of 10% of their skill in Hand to Hand. Every unarmed technique has a requirement in the Hand to Hand skill and may have a requirement in the Raw Speed skill.

Swordsmanship: Each one-handed armed strike they perform, be it with any non-ranged weapon that isn't 'Legendary', does a total of 5% of their Swordsmanship. Any non-ranged armed technique they perform with two hands, be it with any weapon that isn't 'Legendary' does a total of 10% of their Swordsmanship. Every non-ranged armed technique has a requirement in the Swordsmanship skill and may have a requirement in the Raw Speed skill.

Marksmanship: Each ranged strike they perform, be it with any ranged weapon that isn't 'Legendary', does a total of 10% of their Marksmanship in damage. Every armed technique has a requirement in the Marksmanship skill.
